Serie A resumes June 20

Italy’s Serie A can resume on June 20 after a three-month absence in a country hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora said on Thursday.

“The Technical and Scientific Committee gave its agreement on the protocol and the federation assured me that it had a plan B and a plan C,” Spadafora said after a meeting with Italian football chiefs.

“In the light of these considerations, the championship can resume on June 20.”

No top-flight matches have been played since Sassuolo beat Brescia 3-0 on March 9, before the championship was suspended by a pandemic which has killed over 33,000 people in Italy.

Gov Abiodun relaxes COVID-19 lockdown in Ogun

Ogun Sate Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday, relaxed the lockdown imposed on the state to flatten the curve of the coronavirus pandemic.

Governor Abiodun, who stated this while addressing newsmen on the efforts of government to fight the spread of the deadly virus said the state residents can now move around from June 1.

However, Abiodun said residents are not allowed to go out on Saturdays and Sundays, saying lockdown must be observed weekends.

At the press briefing, Abiodun disclosed that Ogun residents would be allowed to move around from morning till evening, unlike before when they were only allowed to be outside between 7am and 5pm.

He, however, reminded the people that the presidential curfew from 8pm to 6am is still in place.

In his words, Abiodun stressed that the relaxation of the lockdown does not mean the pandemic is over, adding that all COVID-19 guidelines must be obeyed.

According to him, the ban on interstate travel, the use of face masks and the observance of social distancing must not be violated by any person.

On the reopening of worship centres, Abiodun hinted that the guidelines will be finalised in the next one week as that will be done alongside religious leaders.

Premier League takes major step towards restart of season

The Premier League took a major step toward restarting matches on Wednesday, after all 20 clubs agreed to resume contact training.

The league also confirmed that it had four positive cases from three clubs, following its third round of testing of 1,008 players and club staff.

With regards to contact training, an official statement said: “Premier League shareholders today voted unanimously to resume contact training – marking another step towards restarting the Premier League season, when safe to do so.

“Squads are now able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising any unnecessary close contact.”

Those discussions are scheduled to continue on Thursday, when issues including a restart date, television scheduling and contingency plans if the season has to be curtailed, will be discussed.

Madonna, 61, Just Freed The Nipple On Instagram—And Has A Response For The Hater

Madonna, 61, just freed the nipple wearing a see-through bra in a new Instagram. She anticipated having some haters, writing in the caption that she “graduated from the University of Zero F*^ks Given.” Celebs like Katy Perry loved the pic, but others weren’t a fan of the photo.

Madonna has been regularly stirring up controversy since the 80s, so its hardly shocking that shed raise a few eyebrows in her 60s. The latest risqu move from Madonna ? She just freed the nipple in a new Instagram post, and theres some serious pearl-clutching happening over it.

It all happened when Madonna shared a photo on Instagram of herself sitting on a couch. Simple enough, right? Her blonde hair is mussed-up, shes wearing a see-through bra (hence the freed nipples) and black underwear, and is clutching something lacy.

Apparently, Madonna anticipated that some people wouldnt be cool with this pic, because she wrote a caption that lets would-be haters know what they can do with their negative vibes. “Current Wardrobe Sitch………………And for those of you who are offended in any way by this photo then I want to let you know that I have successfully graduated from the University of Zero F*^ks Given,” she wrote. “Thanks for coming to my Graduation Ceremony! Class of 2020! .”

Plenty of fellow celebs were here for the pic and no-holds-barred message. “Omg I just enrolled in that college!” wrote Katy Perry. “Do your thing Ma,” commented Debi Mazar. “Girl, I told them to send you that diploma years ago ( HOT AF),” said Courtney Love.

But some people werent impressed. “Cant you guys tell this pic is at least 30 years old? She looks NOTHING like this now,” one person wrote. “Ugh. Give it a rest, grandma,” another said.

Of course, Madonna has a history of not caring what other people think. There was her whole controversial “Like a Prayer” video back in the late 80s, mounting herself on a cross in her Confessions tour, and kissing Drake at Coachella in 2015, just to name a few. And she regularly shares less-than-safe-for-work stuff on Instagram like this:

And this:

Because, Madonna.

President Trump Threatens To ‘Shut Down’ Social Media

President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to shut down social media platforms after Twitter labelled his Tuesday tweets which downgraded mail-in voting in California as false claims.

“Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down before we can ever allow this to happen,” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s tweets contended without evidence that mail-in voting would lead to fraud and a “Rigged Election.”

Under the tweets, Twitter posted a link that read “Get the facts about mail-in ballots” and which took users to a notice pointing out that the claims are “unsubstantiated”, citing reporting by CNN, the Washington Post and other media outlets.

“Trump falsely claimed that mail-in ballots would lead to ‘Rigged Election’,” the notice contended.

“However, fact-checkers say there is no evidence that mail-in ballots are linked to voter fraud.”

Trump aimed the misleading tweets at California, contending falsely that anyone living in the state would be sent ballots when in fact they will only go to registered voters, according to the notice.

Discouraging voting, say by requiring people worried about the coronavirus to risk being in crowded polling stations to cast their ballot, is seen as improving Trump’s chances of re-election.

Femi Otedola responds to a follower who indicated interest in dating his daughter

And Mr Otedola responded: “She has a boyfriend oh.”

Temi Otedola has been dating singer Mr Eazi for years now and he’s been introduced to her family.

Photos of N16k okro soup ordered vs what was received causes stir online

The numerous cases of ‘what I ordered versus what I received’ remains a thing of surprise and hilarity for many social media users. Just like many others before, this story is no different will leave you speechless.

Twitter user, @Inzaghl, took to the platform to share a photo of okro soup someone had ordered and paid N16,000 for and a photo of what they received.

The photo of the okro advertised showed that it would be rich in seafood and the likes. However, what she received was a plain okro soup with no seafood in sight.

Cobhams Asuquo gets top UN appointment

The United Nations Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has appointed award-winning Nigerian musician, producer and songwriter, Cobhams Asuquo, as its National Ambassador.

Peter Hawkins, UNICEF Nigeria Representative, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that the appointment made the artist UNICEF Nigeria’s first National Ambassador in the last 15 years.

Asuquo would help raise awareness on concerns around children’s rights and solutions, including issues around birth registration, immunization, education and protection from violence.

Hawkins welcomed him to the UNICEF family, particularly on Children’s Day.

The statement recalled that Asuquo had been supporting UNICEF to raise awareness on children and youth issues.

Hawkins acknowledged his support for UNICEF Nigeria’s work since 2019, including producing ‘I am a Nigeria Child (For Every Child)’, the song promoting kids’ rights to be respected and protected.

UN added that the hit maker also produced the song ‘We go Win (Corona)’, to raise awareness on how Nigerians can protect themselves from COVID-19.

Asuquo also produced the song ‘Tell Everybody’ back in 2015 to raise awareness on the Sustainable Development Goals, as part of the UN Global Goals campaign.

Hawkins quoted Asuquo as saying it was a huge honour to become a UNICEF Nigeria Ambassador.
